As of July 22, 2010 Lincoln has only had 14 days with high temperatures reaching 90 F or higher (June 7 days, and July 7 days). There have not been any days with the temperature reaching 100 F or higher in Lincoln this summer. The normal number of days with high temperatures reaching at least 90 F is 42 days. It is unlikely that Lincoln will see as many hot days this year.

With an overnight low of only 91 F after a daytime high of 115 F, residents of Lincoln spent the night on the capitol lawn to escape the heat inside their non-air conditioned dwellings. The Summer of 1936 had 82 days with high temperatures reaching 90 F or higher in Lincoln and an astounding 41 days with the high temperature reaching 100 F or higher!

The AWDN station on 84th St. has only been 90 or higher 6 times this year. The airport always has more days > 90 than most any other station in this general area
